In Texas child custody question #2?

Can a father fighting for a child between 1-2 years old bring up anything the mother has done in the past a few years before the child was conceived and use it against her in a custody battle. Will it be relevant? (had nothing to do with abusing a child, and no police report was filed)
Would anything before the child got here be relevant, (other than child abuse, CPS involvment) Witch I’m thinking the CPS involvment in father’s past marriage would (correct me there if I’m wrong).

If the mother has no past record and the father does chances are the father will look like the bad guy
