What are the prospects for Jobs in Social Care in Australia?

Have 10 years experience in Child Protection/Children in Care Work, wonder what the situation is like in Oz. I know the pay is lower than Ireland but if you have any info what so ever I would appreciate it, thanks. {I’m not a Social Worker but do have a degree in Applied Social Studies and a Diploma in Family Law}

Before you can work in Australia, you must have a work visa and before you can even apply for one, you must obtain a positive skills assessment from the body responsible for assessment of your occupation, so that’s where you need to start.

The following ASRI list provides job descriptions of all occupations that are eligible for work visas and includes links to the relevant assessment body. You need to check the qualifications required for your occupation to see if you have any chance of qualifying for a visa or use the list to determine if any other occupation would give you a better chance.
