What is the Texas law on junk vehicles on them being on privae property?

I have a 93 Nissan pickup. It is registered, inspected, and even insured legally. The city code enforcement gave me a citation saying that it is a hazardous vehicle. The pickup sits in my driveway and not on the street and I use it frequently. When I asked the enforcement office why they did this they told me that it is a state law. I do not agree with this and want to now if there is a law and who to contact to start a change.

It could be for several reason’s, on blocks, jacked up. You need to talk to the code enforcement people, they have got to tell you why.. Just telling you that its a hazardous vehicle is not a proper answer, you have he right to know!
