Texas Family Law: What type of suit must I file to recover out of pocket expenses for health insurance?

Non-custodial parent not providing health insurance as ordered. How do I recover money paid to provide insurance coverage? AG office states I must file suit, but not sure what suit type to file.

If a spouse fails to comply with the terms of the court order, that party may be held in contempt and punished accordingly. Such punishment can include up to a $500 fine and/or up to 180 days of imprisonment for each violation.

The court can also take remedial measures at its discretion, including recovering the money you paid to provide insurance coverage for your child. You will likely be filing what’s commonly called an “enforcement action” to recover your money, and you will have the burden of proof to show that your spouse violated the court order.

I suggest you speak confidentially with an attorney to discuss all possible options for recourse
